I like photographing the fringes because that’s where I reside. Always on the edge of a group, stood at the back, the quiet observer. It’s my comfort zone, so today I challenge myself to photograph the high street. So armed with the beast I adopt my best Bresson and work through my nerves to not notice those who notice me.

Working fast trying to balance is not easy. Trying to balance as low an ISO as possible, in aperture priority meant the shutter speed dropped below 1/60 because of the light was low and anything below starts to get shaky. So, a better approach would have been shutter priority to keep things focused. Then again, I don’t mind a bit of fuzz.

And on the way home, noticing the sun and the sea, I stop and surrendered to the solitude.
