The Point - a quiet read in a noisy world
An independent, self-published magazine journal set within the rich cultural history and natural beauty of what is now the North Devon World Surfing Reserve. Reflecting on what it means to be by the sea, from the purlieus of the Point to the coast of Croyde and out into the surfing waves of the Atlantic Ocean, one question I’m asked and I ask is:
What’s the Point?
It starts with rubbish, particularly plastic and it’s developed from documenting to discovering Sustainable Development. Where we go next, I’m unsure. That’s another issue.
Hi,
Just wanted to drop a line to say thanks. . .I've been looking for a good thought provoking Srf mag' since the demise of 'Surfers Path' - I'm glad to say I've found it. . .it's just a pity I only found you at issue #3.
The article-centric approach works well - and I'm pleased to see there's not a wetsuit supplier, surf lodge or B&B ad on every other page (I realise that you need ads to fund the progress of the mag - but its nice to see you're keeping it in check), I love the photo-docs and the history of North Devon surfing. It's great to read how it all began - especially in breaks I know so well.
Many thanks for sharing the Point!
Regards James
